The Operations team will set you up with a VPN access. In most cases, you will be shared the login details to an existing account, use the username and password shared via LastPass to set up your access. Below are the instructions on installing the VPN:
Accept the LastPass share and launch it from your machine.
If it does not launch automatically, copy and paste the URL ( https://cp.nordvpnteams.com/login). You will need to type the organization ID (acled) and then copy and paste or type manually the username and password information from LastPass, which will be available to you.
Download the VPN using the appropriate option for your machine (see below).
Connect to “ACLED Gateway”
Please use this gateway when accessing Nexis
You should be able to install the VPN from the account but if not, here are the installation links:
Each VPN account is used by a group of up to six people. To allow for a smooth functioning of the system, please make sure to consider the following:
Only connect the VPN to one device,
Do not activate 2FA for the VPN, and
Do not change the password!
Please note that if the country in which you reside has legal prohibition of VPN or you could get in trouble in any other way by using it, contact Operations and your supervisor and we will come up with another solution. The list of countries that banned VPN is provided below but we encourage you to check the legal situation in the country of your residence. If you have knowledge of other countries doing so, please contact Operations and we will update the list.
