In case a published report has an error, we strive to correct those errors to ensure the accuracy of our reports in a way that is transparent for our audience.
If you find an error in your published report, please notify the Publications team or Head of External Affairs via Slack as soon as possible.
The Publications team will work with the author to assess the correction and, if necessary, develop the most appropriate correction and note. The correction will be communicated internally via Asana, so all involved parties (from the External Affairs and Analysis departments) are informed.
Corrections that are made more than 120 minutes after publication must include a note. But please, consider the following:
Publications are pushed to the RSS feed after 2 hours, and therefore, any corrections made after that point may not automatically transfer to sites such as ReliefWeb.
Emailed newsletters or other communications cannot be corrected.
Correction notes should include an acknowledgment of the error in the original publication, and supplementary information for the reader to understand the nature of the error.
Note: These guidelines do not apply to additional text added to a report. Additions to reports following the text’s finalization require authors to provide justification and obtain authorization from the final approver.
If you have any questions please reach out to Publications Coordinator Niki Papadogiannaki on Slack.
